Midnight Madness by Priscilla MMSC13

"Cards anyone?"

Well, here is my MMSC13 and I will never look at an old deck of cards the same again. With two little kids and countless games of “slap jack” you are bound to lose a few cards. So, what’s a few more missing from the deck going to hurt? LOL I had fun making this one and did some detailed cutting on it with some machine sewing on the squares. I had to work on this one when the kids were asleep because the first time I cut one of the cards, my daughter started to cry :( Kids are so funny.. don’t worry, we have a closet full of cards etc. Anyway, I tried out Scor Pals Tape on this card..it rocks. I used it to attach my main card front to the actual card. Worked like a charm!!! As always, if you have any questions just ask away and I would love to hear what you think of my card…Last, tell me what YOU have used of your kids to make a card with?? Come on do tell :)

  1. Wow that is just stunning I love all your attention to detail and what a great way to reuse an old deck lot's of ideas from this I must say .. I have never used any thing from kids as I have none .. and I don't think shaving my cat or using his litter would look that attractive on a card LOL
Thanks for sharing this I'm gonna try to make something for this challenge if I have time :)

  13. Fabulous, Priscilla!!! Just love the layers and how you glittered the heart, club, spade and diamond. Adds the perfect glitz to this card. What a great card to give someone taking a trip to Vegas or just a card lover. I have not used anything of my kids on my cards to date...not for a lack of trying though. I swear they have an inventory of every last scrap of everything they own, and they would kill me for the very thought of wanting to use something. Mabye someday when they are grown and I have to weed all of this stuff out of my house. lol

  14. Another great card from Priscilla. Great for those that love games or chance, never know what you are thinking of creating next, always great ideas and colors.

Only thing I have raided from daughters own craft area (so far) were goggle eyes they are not missed yet.

  15. Your card is simply stunning!

A far as what I've taken from my kids to make a card... I have to confess... I appropriated one of their bedrooms and turned it into a stamp room.

Our nest is almost empty, the last two who are at home at all are both in college and hardly here except during the summer, and my stepson, who only visits very occasionally, had the largest bedroom in the house aside from ours! With two big sunny windows, overhead recessed lighting and a huge closet, it was perfect for a studio, and far more spacious than the little tiny guest room my crafts had been relegated to.

When I suggested moving him to the smaller room, DH and SS balked so I simply took over the living room and dining room - pushed the furniture out of my way, set up folding banquet tables, and set up shop. It took a little over 3 weeks for them to see that I was serious. ;)

Phyllis, thanks for inviting me to join your group!

  19. Only you could take an ordinary deck of cards and give it the "WOW" factor. You did an incredible amount of cutting and layering. This is just breathtaking. This makes me think of my DH poker cards in a new light. I hope he won't miss a few decks. lol
