Hello everyone :) So glad you stopped in for a closer look-see. Today my MMSC41 card was made with a really great stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms. It is from a set called "Man's Best Friend" and is just newly released. I really like making dog cards, so when I looked at the sketch this week I knew I had to some how make little tennis balls for the button part on this layout. These tennis balls are altered SU half pearls. I hope I accomplished making them look like "Tennis Balls" :) I wanted to show the card through the envelope this week, so I altered my "priscillastyles" envelope kit and added a window. It reminds me of that song....."How much is that doggie in the window, woof woof, the one with the waggley tail?" Who knows that song? I remember it from when I was a little girl....Anyway, I hope you give this sketch a go and play along with us this week. As alway, I would love to hear your thoughts and comments :)
Entered in the following Challenges...
Practical Scrapers - flowers
Saturday Spotlight- household item. (I used cotton ball fibers to add texture to my tennis balls)
Polka Doodles - flowers
Pile it on - flowers
Hand full of stamps - open
OCCC - something old (old paper and my old SU half pearls)
Paper Sundaes - Glitter (I used glitter on my tennis balls)
WOW> I just love this card and the tiny tennis balls are fantastic..Loz
ReplyDeleteFAB job on the card an envelope. A very nice touch with the tennis balls. And yes, I think a doggy is always a man's/ woman's best friend. I LOVE DOGS!!!! This sketch should be a lot of fun!!
ReplyDeleteHi Priscilla, fantastic card and envelope, as always, you have done a wonderful job with those altered pearls, too clever, thought they were marbles cut in half at first LOL, thank you for the sneek peaks, not started yet but love the sketch, take careX:)
ReplyDeletePriscilla - this is just gorgeous! I love your DOG card - it has so much 'GRUNT' to it! Love all of the texture and the shimmer and that fabulous dog! Priscilla-I did click on your card to get a closer look at the tennis balls....I thought you accomplished that by cutting some green marbles in half (which in it's own right would be a feat!) I think they look spectacular. I love how you cut out the window-that is such a nice touch. I used the envelope kit myself with my card as it is so thick with all those tags and I actually sewed on it for the first time. I am going to get braver with the next envelope and sew even more!!!!! A simply fascinating and enthralling creation this week to inspired and delight us!!!

Wow Priscilla, I really do think that you are THE master cardmaker! I love all of the extra creative things that you do! I love the envie especially. I know that I use my template all of the time. I love every single thing about your artwork! WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat sketch Priscilla and an absolutely fantastic card! The tennis balls are so creative. And thanks for introducing (me) to this stamp set. I have to go order it right now.
ReplyDeleteSuper Priscilla! At first I thought you used beads for the tennis balls and then, like Carol, I thought you had a really cool stash of marbles that you cut in half. :) (I would be afraid to try something like that). But then I read about how you altered the half pearls. VERY CLEVER! What a fun card for any "Doggy in the Window" lover out there. :) Michelle
ReplyDeleteLove your Doggie cards. Great colors, glimmer and shine, those tennis balls rock. The cut-out in the envelope is so the "Doggie in the window". The green colors in the embellishments really make the card pop.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Priscilla, Jane
Fabulous, Priscilla! Love your doggie, and the tennis balls are perfect! I've missed a challenge or two, hope to get to this one tonight.
ReplyDeleteSo perfect, Priscilla! Your colors are so deep and rich. I love the dry embossing on the frame and the way that you created tennis balls. You have quite the creative mind my friend. It is so fun to see it in action.

You guys give the best feedback. I was having one of those "it's not even lunchtime yet" kind of work days and then I went to see what was happening on my blog and there's the comments from the MMDT. It always, always makes my day. Thanks a bunch, you make me feel so good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card and love that image. My neice has a dog like that and she is a little bit of a thing, but he listens to her so well. Remember the kids books "Carl", same kind of dog. The envleope is beautiful with the card showing through. Yep, I remember that song, The Andrew Sisters, right?
ReplyDeleteTennis balls look great too.
