Our September Guest Designing Diva!!!

Welcome Carol Hurlock :) I am so excited to announce our September Guest Designer Diva. Carol is a wonderful card maker and all around crafter for that matter. She is extremely talented and her work will bring so much inspiration to the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenges this next month. Here is a little bit about her.....


"I live in Woodbine, Georgia with my best friend-husband John and my two boys, Wesley 23 and Ryan 16. There has never been a moment in my life that I do not remember crafting. Starting at an early age doing those loopy loom pot holders. I learned to crochet at twelve, then sew. I was creating all my own clothes in my Junior year in high school and continued until I turned that craft into a home based business making fabric dolls, animals, and quilts in 1990-1999 as Carol Anne's Country Cache. I have dabbled in paper crafting long before it became so popular. I used to make my own hang/price tags for my merchandise, my own cards, and stationery items as well as scrapbooking. Papercrafting and rubber stamping are my passion right now even though I still quilt and crochet afghans. Its an adventure and I am enjoying wherever my creativity has been taking me!"

Mid Week Midnight Madness...... "Melissa's 3-D Easy Peasy Tutorial"

"Mid Week Midnight Madness Tutorial"

I would like to thank Melissa for taking the time out to do a tutorial for the Midnight Madness Blog. Melissa is our Guest Designer Diva for the Month of August and I just want to say what a pleasure it has been to work with her. Stay tuned for our Weekly Bonus winner to be revealed later today and then Our Newest September Guest Designer will be annouced on Friday. Have fun with Melissa's tutorial and I hope your projects will take on the "POP" factor for just that much more added fun!!!

The big thing right now is making things Pop right off your scrapbook pages and cards with 3 Dimensional stickers. So why not make your own. These are especially fun for Christmas time. You can use a stamped sleigh, stocking or even a Christmas tree and make it look like they are filled with goodies! It also works well with stamped flowers. It makes them look so real. I decided to make a 3-D Sleigh filled with lots of goodies and presents. Here is how to do it. Easy Peasy!
Step 1: Stamp your image twice using Black Staz-On ink onto white cardstock. Color in the images.
Step 2: Using a glue pen, add glitter to highlight the images. Glitter also makes things pop. For this particular image, I applied the green glitter to the bottom part of only 1 of the sleighs. And the white glitter to the top portion of the other sleigh.
Step 3: Trim around the 1 sleigh with the green bottom, making it the size of the panel you would want.
Step 4: Trim out just the top part of the second sleigh. Apply pop dots to back.
Step 5: Adhere the top part of the sleigh over the entire image.
Step 6: Adhere stamped images or stickers between the two layers of the sleighs, to make them appear as if they are coming out of the sleigh.
Step 7: Adhere to card front.

Just a quick update…My daughter is recovering nicely and I am just trying to keep her hydrated for the most part. She has been such a trooper during this whole thing. Thank you again for all your well wishes and personal emails. I was very touched by all the love, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would also like to thank the Midnight Madness Design Team for holding down the fort these last few days. I did not have a chance to comment on the MMSC15 cards, but will be playing catch up as soon as I can. I would like to take this time to also WELCOME all our new players. We had so many new people joining us this last week and are very thrilled about it. We hope you will keep coming back to play with us week after week. We are very close to having 300 different players in our challenges and the team is planning a big celebration. The details will be revealed in the coming future. I am excited to say, that we have a new Guest Designer for Sept and are now on the search for an October Guest Designer, so keep those projects coming and just let us know you are interested in the October spot. I will be posting who it is very soon. Melissa Bove has done a great job being our August Guest Designing Diva and will be sharing a tutorial this week with everyone, so keep in eye out for that coming on Wednesday. Midnight Madness Week #15 (MMSC15)

UPDATE 8-22-09: Hi Everyone, Just wanted to let you all know that the Surgery went just FINE :) {{{{{big sigh}}}} Now we are just dealing with trying to keep fluids in her and the pain to a minimum. Thank you everyone for your well wishes and personal emails. It has been very comforting reading them. Just a couple of things before I run, we had a really hard time picking our September Guest Designer Diva, but we have narrowed it down and have finally picked someone. We are now on the search for our October Guest Designer Diva, so keep linking up your wonderful work and let us know you would like to be our GDT for October. We get to do it all over again. Yay!! We are just thrilled with the enthusiasm to be a GDT for the Midnight Madness and what fun it has been checking out so much talent. So, THANK YOU everyone who entered. I will be announcing our Sept Guest designer shortly. I am still playing catch up and have not read any of my blog candy comments or even had a chance to make my rounds with our entries cards this week. Hello everyone. I hope your all healthy and happy. I have a couple of things I would like to say before we get into the post. I want to thank everyone who has left comments, played our challenges and who I have gotten to know via email. Everyone I have met through this forum has been so nice and I am really enjoying my experience with blogging. Today, I experienced my first problem with blogging. Our Midnight Madness logo badge was having some issues. It was a photobucket and wordblog problem. As much as I love the blinkies, I have to admit, I was getting addicted to them LOL. I will be taking a break from blinkies for awhile due to technical problems. I would really appreciate it, if you would all replace your Midnight Madness blinkies logo with one of the picture logos from my side bar and just link it back to this blog http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/ Again I am so sorry for the inconvenience, but I am learning, and I think that by not having to depend on other sites for the inter-workings of my own blog is best. In the long run, I think this will be more convenient for everyone.
On a personal note....I am posting early because I have a big day tomorrow along with a busy week. Tomorrow we are taking my daughter to the doctors and then on Friday, she is having surgery. She has “Hypertrophy of Tonsil and Adenoids” My daughter has had a small speech delay and we are hoping this will help with that, as well as her breathing problems. I know it is a common surgery, but please say a little prayer for her. I am sure she will be fine, it will be me that will be the nervous wreak LOL If any of you have experienced this with your kids, I would so love to hear any advice you can share with me.
